We are looking for an Engineering Technician I to join our Operational Technology (OT) Development and Implementation team. In this entry-level role, you will help maintain, support, and secure our critical SCADA system. You will learn the basic hands-on skills, tools, and procedures needed for this specialized field. This position involves performing routine, clear-cut tasks.
Schedule 9/80: Monday through Friday /Every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other Friday. Start times are no earlier than 6 am and ending times are no later than 6 pm.
Hybrid: Metropolitan’s current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on
organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education development test (GED), and
either two years of accredited college or university in engineering related coursework or two years of
relevant experience.
General Required Knowledge of: Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry; design principles;
technical research, analysis and report preparation; and current office equipment and technology.
Corrosion Required Knowledge of: Corrosion science.
Maintenance Management Required Knowledge of: Maintenance planning practices.
Control Systems Required Knowledge of: None
General Required Skills and Abilities to: Perform calculations; read plans, specifications and
drawings; use current office equipment and technology; problem solve; prioritize and multi-task;
communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working
relationships with those contacted in the course of work; work independently and in a team environment;
and operate current office equipment including computers and supporting applications.
Corrosion Required Skills and Ability to: Learn to test and assess infrastructure and equipment.
Maintenance Management Required Skills and Ability to: Learn and assist with maintenance
planning processes and practices.
Control Systems Required Skills and Ability to: None
