In this role, you'll serve as the Planner/Scheduler supporting the Desert Housing Management Team. Within the Team, this position will support the staff who perform maintenance on vertical structures and residential facilities; by establishing an online work order system; plan and schedule work orders related to preventive and corrective maintenance to internal and external workforces; develop job plans and scope of work and provide maintenance reports via the Maximo system.

 

This is the journey level position performing Planner/Scheduler job duties supporting maintenance, operations, and construction for Desert housing and recreation. This position will create and manage resident requests, preventive, and corrective maintenance. Work with internal and external resources to complete assigned tasks. 

 

What You'll Do

 

Working closely with the Operations and Maintenance Managers, the Planner Scheduler is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work and projects performed in the Desert Housing Management team. Provides coordination between the operations and maintenance organizations; maintains appropriate records and files of completed and on-going maintenance work and projects. Interfaces on a daily basis with the maintenance managers and employees during the planning and scheduling of activities. Research and analyze a variety of issues in support of maintenance and operations and develop or prepare routine and ad-hoc reports.

The Incentive Pay program will be setup to provide a Desert Branch Assignment Premium to qualifying employees as follows: 

 

5% for all employees assigned to Gene Camp or Intake. 
15% for all employees assigned to Hinds Pumping Plant, Eagle Mountain, or Iron Mountain.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

 

Education and Experience: High school diploma or certificate of High School equivalency and five years journey-level experience in a relevant trade or craft. 

 

Relevant trade or craft is defined as: work experience in a Public Utility such as Water Department, Conveyance & Distribution, Treatment Plant, Sewer, Gas, Electric, Oil, etc. 

 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS 

License(s): Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
