The Water Quality Technician I is an entry-level position that will be supporting the operational needs of the Grace F. Napolitano Pure Water Southern California Innovation Center Demonstration Plant located in Carson. This position will report out of Headquarters adjacent to Union Station in Los Angeles, California, but will be stationed in Carson.

 

You will work as part of a team to learn and assist with preventative and corrective maintenance in water quality. In this job you will learn and assist with operating and maintaining research facilities which will include learning and assisting with control systems maintenance and installation and other equipment.

 

In this position you will learn and assist with conducting analyses, investigations of water quality issues, and prepare reports. The successful candidate will also help support with conducting water quality studies, inspections, and research. Additionally, you will learn and assist in updating water quality-related databases and records and provide support during emergency response situations.

 

Schedule:  5/8, Monday through Friday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: High school diploma or High School Equivalency and two years of relevant experience.

 

Relevant Experience is defined as: Knowledge of water chemistry and safe working practices; 


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
