The Metropolitan Water District’s Information Technology Group has one (1) opening for a Principal Information Technology Analyst (Project Manager). This position will be responsible for concurrently managing several Information Technology projects in areas such as application development, infrastructure, cloud, and operational business areas among others. This position will perform project management duties on various complex information technology initiatives including directing project teams, developing schedules, project plans, Request for Proposals (RFP's), budgets, consulting agreements, and monitoring/tracking project progress. The Principal IT Analyst position will also be responsible for reporting project status, risk, and resolutions to wide audiences including management, users, and stakeholders. Additionally, this position will also assist and mentor less experienced staff in the areas of project management where applicable.

 

Schedule: 9/80, Monday through Friday with alternating Fridays off

 

Hybrid: Metropolitan’s current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and eight years of increasingly responsible experience, of which two years must have been at the Senior Programmer Analyst or Senior Systems Analyst level.

Increasingly Responsible Experience is defined as: Any combination of experience in the following areas: Experience implementing software applications (such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, Financial systems, Maximo, or Enterprise operational systems), and/or experience coordinating the implementation of IT Infrastructure or Information Security systems.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
• PMP Certification
• ITL Certification
